Google maps not working properly with Apple Car Play

The arrow park sometimes start pointing to different direction than the actual driving direction of the car.

Ex:- Car is on main road going straight, Pointer shows it is taking right.. and then the issue starts.

As long as the Arrow pointer matches the Car's direction all work Fine. As soon as it bends or changes the whole map goes for a toss.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We'll be happy to help with CarPlay. It sounds like this may be specific to Google Maps. If so, you may need to work with that developer. To test and isolate, use Apple Maps and note if you see the same issue.

"Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:

If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your iPhone under Settings > Bluetooth. Then go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure that Wi-Fi is also turned on. Tap the CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on.

If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display and select it.
Restart both your iPhone and your car.
Make sure Siri is on.
If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set it up again.
Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information." (See article linked above)

Hello danakayw,

Thanks for the prompt response.

The thing is , it also happens with Apple Maps but very rarely.

But it is quite evident with Google Maps.

Probable Issues :-

Car Play is unable to communicate the heading and coordinate information properly with other apps.
There is a lag in s/w .

But things works fine when iPhone is not connected to vehicle. Both Apple Maps or Google Maps works superb w/o car play.

The issue starts when I connect with car.

I also want to ask a very important question here ?

With Car Play the Apple Maps or Google Maps uses the GPS antenna of my iPhone or my Car ?

The response might help me narrowing down my search.

Can my car's GPS antenna be faulty or sending wrong information to Car Play ?
First of all can a GPS antenna in Car be ever faulty ?

This issue is really frustrating.

Issue not with Apple Maps or Google Maps. They are working fine.

Issue with Apple Car Play.

Apple maps works fine in my phone but as soon as I connect to Apple car Play, Maps doesnot work.

It is an issue with Apple CAR play.

Please fix this.
