Magic Mouse always needs to be re-paired after power down

Every time I power down my Mac mini, and then power it up again, my Magic Mouse is not recognized. Surely there must be a setting that allows to to find and connect to the mouse, and I don't have to connect it with a cable after every power down?

Mac mini, macOS 13.4

Re-Piar This:

Unpair all devices from Bleutooth, and then pair them back.

Try these Apple Support Links:

Resetting the Bluetooth Module:

For former macOS versions, resetting the Bluetooth Module would have been an option. See my User tip: Use "Reset the Bluetooth module" to Fix Constant Bluetooth Disconnections - User Tips

Do you have access to another Mac? Friend/relative? See if you can duplicate the problem, which will either confirm or eliminate hardware as the issue.

If confirmed as a hardware problem, I would schedule Apple in-store repair and have it swapped with new. You can also skip the “other Mac” test and have the store check the mouse out for free and give you options.

Under no circumstances call Apple Support for this problem - it cannot be accurately diagnosed remotely.

If hardware checks out good i.e. it works on another Mac, update here please and let’s see what’s possible.
