Huawei Health data has a large iCloud backup

I have been using the Huawei Health app & the Honor band 5 to track fitness & sleep. I was able to link it to the Apple health kit & sync across the two while I am using my phone. This seems to be working. The sleep data & step data from the last 2 years do seem to line up. There are some helpful posts on how to do this.

Now I have a iCloud backup sync storage problem. The data file from the Huawei app is 1.78 GB. Gigabytes! It seems very large. I want to exclude it from my iCloud backup to save my iCloud space.

I am assuming that the Apple Health data is stored somewhere in my iCloud backup & that this 1.78 GB is redundant. Can anyone else with a similar non apple tracker confirm my assumption?

I don't want to loose the health data, but I don't want to have two copies of it taking up more space.

Apparently, in the US, Huawei does not offer syncing to their cloud. (I assume this stems from the U.S. embargo on Huawei)

Thanks for your comments.
