This song is not currently available in your country or region for my OWN music, not purchased

some of the songs transferred to my iPhone, running ios 16.5.1, from my Mac, running Mojave, are greyed out and, when trying to play them, produce the error message

"This song is not currently available in your country or region"

All the songs on my library are not from iTunes Store but my own. it is a new phone so I don't know if it is related to hardware on my new 12 mini or is is related to the iOS 16.x.x that it came with.

I was able to by pass the issue by not loading the phone with more than one item at a time (album/playlist/artist/etc). super tedious but was working.

any suggestions?

Are you using iTunes Match, or the similar sync feature in the Apple Music subscription service?

I wonder if the system has found a match between music from one of your CDs, and a track in Apple's database that isn't available (through Apple) in your country or region.
