thanks so much for the reply man, in my settings I've got both input and output set to my scarlett focusrite and when I press record the mic does not pickup on my vocals at all but on garage band I do the same thing and it works

when i go into audio preferences and select both built in input & output it picks up on my voice and the meters move but when I select the scarlett focusrite for input and output the meters don't move and it doesn't pickup on my voice. the issue is in both garage band and logic I just checked. i just brought up the master volume to 0db and the issue persists. how do I change track output to stereo out? thanks for your help

thank you. that screenshot i provided is everything on the scarlett application you cant click anywhere else or navigate to any other pages that is the only page within the entire app as far as I'm aware. i cant see anything on that page about input or anything it doesn't really say anything about that on the application.

I've also got another audio interface that's a different brand (minifuse) also highly rated. brand new same as my scarlett. I've tried both and have the same issue with both brands of audio interface.

also what do you mean by uncheck record < audio input monitoring. sorry im new to this thanks so much

the meters move for the instrumental im using to rap over but when I speak into the mic the meters don't move at all

i unchecked this and the meters still arent moving
