logic pro x

I open logic pro x, I've got a scarlett focusrite with a rode nt1a mic plugged into input 1. In logic I've got the track set on input 1 aswell so they match up. My voice is not being picked up by the input meters down the bottom I've tried everything. I have tried turning software monitoring on and off this does not work. I've gone into the scarlett app and tried everything in there on my mac.

This issue only happens in logic pro x and does not happen in garage band. Garage band works perfectly fine. so I'm assuming the issue is within the logic DAW.

This screenshot shows that even while I am talking into the mic with 48v turned on it does not show up with any input at all whether 48v is turned on or off neither works.

It is not clear to me what the problem is here, because I see an overload of the selected track.

  1. Uncheck Record > Audio Input Monitoring
  2. Then click the red "R" button on the audio track you like to record. You should see the meters moving. If not, verify the audio settings in Logic. Your soundcard should be selected: Preferences > Audio > Input Device (and Output Device)

Some other things:

• Your Master Fader should ALWAYS be set to 0 dB. Unfortunately, the Volumefader (= Master Volume) in the Control Bar is visible by default. This Fader is not a Monitorfader but has impact on your recordings aswell. You can change this by CONTROL-Click into the Control Bar > Cutomize Control Bar and Display > uncheck Master Volume.

• Are you aware that you have selected a stereo input on your track (In 1-2) instead of a mono input (Input1). You can change this by clicking on the Channel Mode icon (the two circles) in the channel strip.

• Are you aware that your output is routed to bus 1, where your disabled send is also routed? The output should be Stereo Out.

when i go into audio preferences and select both built in input & output it picks up on my voice and the meters move but when I select the scarlett focusrite for input and output the meters don't move and it doesn't pickup on my voice. the issue is in both garage band and logic I just checked. i just brought up the master volume to 0db and the issue persists. how do I change track output to stereo out? thanks for your help

thank you. that screenshot i provided is everything on the scarlett application you cant click anywhere else or navigate to any other pages that is the only page within the entire app as far as I'm aware. i cant see anything on that page about input or anything it doesn't really say anything about that on the application.

I've also got another audio interface that's a different brand (minifuse) also highly rated. brand new same as my scarlett. I've tried both and have the same issue with both brands of audio interface.
