Email aliases for Apple ID

As far as I can see, it impossible to remove the “name@icloud.com” email alias for my Apple ID, which I set up in “name@mac.com” format very many years ago.

I have assumed until now that emails I receive to this alias address are just spam. But now I know someone else is genuinely using this email address.

I have their name (very similar to mine) and street address as Fedex is delivering a package to them today.

Is it possible they have an Apple ID that matches my “name@icloud.com”?

It is very concerning that I have access to the other personal details and potentially they have access to mine.

Those old .mac addresses add complexity that is best resolved with assistance from Apple directly: Refer to this document for ways to contact Apple ➞ Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.
