Unable to verify battery and the phone won't charge, battery wasn't replaced

Last night, my son's iphone 13 wouldn't charge and then it gave the message unable to verify the battery and it's dead now, I've had it plugged in for an hour and it's not taking a charge at all.

iPhone 15 not charging after update; unrecognized battery My iPhone 15 has been fine until the update. It’s my daughter’s phone and it’s always low battery. It charged just fine until recently to where it won’t read any charging cables. I did see the message pop up and say Apple don’t recognize the battery. It’s never been worked on at all. How do I get the phone to hold a charge so I can update the phone? Thank you!

That would indicate something has failed. make an appointment at the Genius Bar and have it checked.
