I have been paying for a subscription I didn't have

I think I might have signed up for the free trial of Apple TV+ sometime at the end of last year, but I cancelled it before the payments started (I thought!). But now I see the payments started anyway, but I haven't had access to AppleTV+. So they've been charging me for something I haven't been getting. I also, obviously, couldn't cancel the subscription I did not have to make the payments stop.

How do I deal with this, how do I cancel these payments and how can I get my money back for services that were not delivered?

The https://reportaproblem.apple.com website should list all recent charged on your Apple ID.

If it does not appear there, then the charge is not directly on your Apple account, so cannot be canceled from there.

So where are you seeing this payment exactly? Why do you think it's tied to your Apple ID then?

Are you the Family Organizer in a Family Sharing group?

How does it appear on your bank statement exactly?

How do you know its for Apple TV+?

Have you verified your current charges on your account? click here ➜ If you see 'apple.com/bill' on your billing statement - Apple Support

If it is for Apple TV+, why did you not have access to it? Apple has no way of knowing wether you can or cannot access something. If you signed up for it, it stands to reason you had access to it to subscribe, so why did you just stop having access to it?

If it is for Apple TV+, you can cancel it online by following the steps here ➜ How to cancel Apple TV+ - Apple Support

Again, verify what the charge is for then by following the steps here ➜ If you see 'apple.com/bill' on your billing statement - Apple Support

If its a one time payment, you can request a refund right there for it.

If it is a subscription, then you will need to find it and cancel it by following there steps here ➜ If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

And then contact Apple support for a refund.

You're right, I only inferred it from the amount. There might be other things that cost the exact same amount. Either way, I have 0 subscriptions so I can't cancel it. I also have nothing else that I am paying for according to my account. I thought it was probably apple TV+ because I did use their trial but cancelled before I was supposed to be paying.

There is nothing on my billing statement. Just only amounts being paid to Apple Services and no trace of it anywhere else.

Again, I would love to verify what the charge is, but there are no charges listed there if I follow the link and the instructions you're sending me. It's a recurring payment, that I see being deducted from my bank account, but there is no trace of it anywhere in, near or around my apple ID, subscriptions or anything else. Hence my question.

hmmm, good questions and it's getting me to think that maybe I'm just being scammed in some way.

It's going via my PayPal, which is actually not directly linked to my apple ID. It's marked as "Apple Services" and on my Credit Card statement that's linked to the PayPal account it shows as "'PAYPAL *ITUNESAPPST APPLE'." When I do a google search on this, I find that other people pop up with the exact same question / complaint - unfortunately no other answers than the ones I am seeing here. But I think maybe something is just fishy about these payments. I'm just going to cancel them via PayPal and see what happens (I am just hoping I'm not gonna get on some Apple naughty list and get blocked from purchasing anything in the future). But yeah the money might just be lost. Thanks for your questions pointing me in the right direction.

That would not directly be an Apple charge. As I said all Apple charges should appear as "apple.com/bill". Not "Apple services" or "iTunesAppst Apple".

Also, if you don't have your PayPal account added to your Apple ID, there would be no way for Apple to charge it.

Seems like scam or someone trying to charge your PayPal account pretending to be Apple.
