Charged Twice For Apple TV

Since September Apple has charged me for Apple TV after the expiry of a 6 month mobile phone deal discount although I had separately obtained a free subscription through my bank from then on. I have since cancelled the mobile phone Apple TV subscription but by end-Jan 2025 I will have unnecessarily paid for 5 months of subscriptions for the same service they were already getting paid for by my bank.

This breaches Apple's duty to treat customers fairly.

How do I

(a) complain that Apple never warned me I was overpaying? and

(b) get a refund of the overpaid £40+ from Apple?

Double charges for the same thing on the same Apple ID, are highly highly unlikely as the system is set up to prevent them.

If your bank offers Apple TV+ and You linked your Apple Id to it, then it should have replaced your stand alone subscription. You would need to contact your banks support department to figure out why it didn’t.

If you log in to your Apple account you should only see one subscription.

Go to https://reportaproblem.apple.com and verify what the other charge is for.

Thanks.

Well, until I cancelled the duplicate subscription both subscriptions were appearing on the same web page in my Apple Subscriptions section. Each said that to cancel, I must contact the respective organisation - i.e. the mobile phone company and the bank. So, on its face, Apple had clear notice of the duplication under my account. As you say, it should have flagged up at least as a query for them to raise with me. But no, they obviously follow a buyer beware/self help approach.
