Mulitple display in Macbook Air M2

With a MacBook Air M2 where only one external display is allowed,

Can I use ipad as a second monitor folllowing this guide

Use an iPad as a second display for a Mac - Apple Support

and still connecting to the third monitor via hdmi/type-c?

You're in luck.


I could be mistaken, but I don't think Sidecar counts against the "one external display" limit. Sidecar doesn't' give you an extra hardware video output on your M2 MacBook Air, or add a hardware video input to an iPad (which has none). It uses a software-based virtual display connection.
