Battery not charging while plugged in

I have a 2017 MacBook , yesterday all of sudden the battery is not charging while plugged in. What is the problem and solutions? Thanks.

It is past the normal age of useful life of batteries. Most batteries go sometime between 2 and 5 years.


You can try to reset the SMC

Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support


If you have a power cord, be sure it is the right one for your model:

If your MagSafe cable or power adapter isn't working - Apple Support

Identify your Mac power adapter - Apple Support


If that does not work, then look into options to have your battery replaced by an authorized service technician.
