MACBOOK PRO DESKTOP ITEMS SNAP BACK TO ORIGINAL POSITION -- ANNOYING!

When I move folders, etc, on my M1 MacBook Pro, the folder snaps back to its original position. Very annoying.

I found an old thread where George said -- open up Finder -- under VIEW click on SHOW VIEW OPTIONS -- and change the option from SNAP TO GRID to NONE.

Desktop folders snap back in place - Apple Community

I don't see this option on my MacBook Pro M1 - SNAP TO GRID to NONE.

So how do I stop these folder from snapping back now? Thanks!

Hello John B. Thanks for your suggestion. I stumbled upon the solution. When on the desktop:

  • right click
  • select SHOW VIEW OPTIONS
  • deselect SNAP TO GRID

Thanks anyhow. Good to go....
