iphone restart

I recently purchased a new iPhone and successfully synced it with my previous one. Right now both devices are connected to the same Apple ID and iCloud account. As a result, all my photos are now accessible on both iPhones.

Now, I'm considering restarting my old iPhone so that it can be used by my sister as if it were brand new. However, I have concerns that by doing so, I might unintentionally delete all the photos from my new iPhone as well.

I would love to hear if you know it is safe and also, what is the best way to do that.

iPhone 6, iOS 11

It’s perfectly safe IF you perform ALL the steps - in order - as detailed here.

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Hint: Step 4 “disconnects” the phone from your AppleID. Anything you do after that can’t affect your iCloud or your new phone.

Step 10 is important too; skipping it (i.e. NOT following the sub-linked instructions) will prevent your sister from setting-up the now-erased phone as hers.

Hello again,

I've now progressed to step 4 and successfully disconnected my iPhone from iCloud. However, I've noticed that all my pictures are still present on the device. I'm feeling quite anxious about potentially losing them from iCloud if I proceed to erase everything (despite the fact that you wrote it cannot affect it).

I tried backing up the iPhone to my PC. Oddly, I've noticed that not all the files are visible on the computer – only around 3000 files are displayed, compared to the 7000 I can see on my iPhone.

maybe you know why it is happpaning? or should I just let it go and everything gonna be okay and i just need to earase it.

thank you in advance
