I don’t have the option to save to files

This happened after the most recent Apple update. I don’t have the option to save to files on either my iphone or my iPad. It still shows all the other ways ie airdrop , messages, email, notes etc and even if I click on more files doesn’t show there either. The files icon is on my Home Screen on both iphone and iPad but does not show anywhere under the settings tab. This is extremely frustrating as I tend to save everything to files. My previous e files are still there when I click my file icon but I can’t seem to save anything else there as of the last update IOS 16.5.1

how can I get files to show again as an option to share to?

how do I get the files icon to show in settings with the rest of my icons

Hi there Lacey1447,

To start, you'll want to be sure iCloud Drive is turned on in Settings > [your name] > iCloud.

Use the Files app to store files and folders in iCloud Drive. You can access them from all your devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID. Any changes you make appear on all your devices set up with iCloud Drive.

Next, it's expected not to see a Files option in Settings, since it's a feature managed by iCloud. To help us get a better understanding of the issue, which app are you trying to save items from to the Files app?

Hi

yes all that has been done. I cloud drive is turned on in settings.

I have plenty of storage in iCloud to save anything

yes I get that I don’t see files option in settings but….for example if I want to save something to files from anywhere….an email, or the web or a specific article etc etc….I don’t have the option to save to files anymore.

I can save to notes , reminders, etc etc etc but no files shows up

i used to be able to save whatever I wanted to files and now I can’t get anything into files anymore
