Can't set recovery contact

I've recently removed my recovery contact and I'm unable to add a new one or the old one now. I'm actually unable to do so on any of my devices, so it's something with my Apple ID. Any idea what would cause this to error on all devices?

Consistent inability to add recovery contact on latest MacOS, iPadOS & iOS I cannot add a recovery contact to any recent device I own, including M3 Pro MacBook 14" (OS 14.2), iPad mini 6 (OS 17.2), and iPhone 13 Pro (OS 17.2). INTENT I want to add my wife's AppleID as my recovery contact. Note that she was able to add me as a recovery contact, though that was over a year ago. RESULT iPad/iPhone simply fails with no alert or error; MacOS fails with error: "Settings Error - Extension process Apple ID(1483) exited" (also got a "...ID(1527)" error). THINGS TRIED MacOS: System Settings > Apple ID > Sign-In & Security > Account Recovery > Recovery Contact + button > Add Recovery Contact button > I enter my device password. Then a brief empty modal appears with a feedback animation which disappears after 2 seconds. I can hit the Add Recovery Contact button again which always does nothing. Then hit that button AGAIN and the Settings Error appears (see attached image below) . iPadOS/iOS: System Settings > Apple ID > Sign-In & Security > Account Recovery > + Add Recovery Contact > Add Recovery Contact button > FaceID entered. After that the Add Recovery Contact modal slides down and nothing else happens. If I select + Add Recovery Contact again, the same nothing happens. Restarted devices. MACOS ERROR ALERTS:

I followed all the steps to set up recovery but won’t allow me to add a contact. I’m trying to set up recovery account I followed all the steps but when I get to “add contact “ it won’t let me. I get a message saying, I can’t use my device to set up account recovery.

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to add a different recovery contact after removing a previous recovery contact for your Apple ID. If you are following the steps for this (Set up an account recovery contact - Apple Support) and are still having an issue, please contact Apple directly to look into this further:
