Need more space to update. Article says connect to computer and download iTunes. What does that do?

If your iPhone needs more space to download and install the iOS update, you can try using a PC with iTunes installed or a Mac. iTunes will temporarily download the iOS update file(s) on the computer instead of your iPhone and then install the iOS update on your iPhone.
