PSA: Text opacity bug after 5.6.5 update

Hi

This is just a note to let you know that FCP ignores a 0% opacity parameter in text layers.

This means that any text layer that has been set to 0% opacity in the properties will be visible in FCP, so any rigs with widgets set up to display text selections, this will break now in FCP and all text layers will display together.

This could be a Motion issue, or an FCP issue, or both. I have confirmation that this is happening on Intel and Apple silicon systems - and it happens in old templates, new templates and in old templates 'saved as' after update. So far 1 report of this not being an issue at all - still waiting to see the confirmation of that.

This may be entirely system specific.

Please if you have the time, check on this and go here to submit a bug report so that the dev team can get all possible information on the systems experiencing this issue.

Hi Luis,

Yes, I have copies of the previous versions, and they are fine on my non updated iMac. Luckily it is an easy fix with group opacity or clone source to the widget, .. but I know for sure there are a few commercial plugins out there that use text layer opacity on widgets, and users are going to find all text on screen together the next time they load a template.
