How to see transfer rate of file copies?

I often need to transfer large files to external SSD or from SD to mac's internal drive.

Finder doesn't tell me how fast it's going. MB/s etc.

I currently use Double Commander because it gives me this information. Is there a way to see it in Finder as well?

missing progress window Doing a large file transfer from one external drive to another. The progress window has disappeared. I know you are meant to go to Finder>Window>Show progress bar, to have it pop up again but that options doesn't seem to be visible in the menu. Is there any other way to tell whether the transfer has finished? Short of trying to eject one if the drives which I presume will tell me if something is in progress but i dont want to risk stopping my transfer as its taken days.

For my part this is a brand new APFS SSD that is 1% full. The copy rates are similar if I am copying 3MB music files, 16GB system images but slower if lots of 2k text files...

Yes, but say in the future I have an issue with it, I come here and someone says, "well you're not using an official Apple app, how do you expect anyone to help you..." If I don't need the 3d-party app, I prefer not to use it. Right now it's needed *because* of the limitations of Finder that I'm hoping to solve.
