missing progress window

Doing a large file transfer from one external drive to another. The progress window has disappeared. I know you are meant to go to Finder>Window>Show progress bar, to have it pop up again but that options doesn't seem to be visible in the menu. Is there any other way to tell whether the transfer has finished? Short of trying to eject one if the drives which I presume will tell me if something is in progress but i dont want to risk stopping my transfer as its taken days.

thanks for responding. Mission control says no available windows.

However I just clicked on one of the greyed out folders in the external drive and it allowed me to resume copying and the progress bar is back! (:

BUT now it says The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “21-033_Soulbox National Mall” can’t be read or written.

(Error code -36)

I have no idea what that some data might be. Now what?
