I saw several messages about this with no real fix. If you are running Ventura and Monterey, you'll need to launch Bay ROES with the .jnlp Java app. Do an online chat with Bay support, and they can supply the link. Just make sure you have installed Java so it's ready to go.
It's working perfectly on my M1 Max Studio.
Oh, I see what you mean. I though you just meant a person needed to install a separate Java package to get it to run. You mean an OS update caused a user's current install of Bay ROES to stop working.
I had just tried it here and it hung about a third of the way through downloading the latest app modules. Getting the latest installer from Bay Photo fixed it.

That was probably true, perhaps two OS updates ago, when Bay & WHCC ROES worked perfectly (maybe it still works on Monterey). Since the updates, both of those ROES apps would not load completely. I only posted this because others were experiencing the same issues, and running Java frameworks resolved the issue for both Bay & WHCC ROES apps. I have been using ROES for years on Mac.
You don't need to install any extra Java software in order for the Bay ROES app to work. macOS still has all of the necessary Java frameworks and such installed to run ROES.
