I have an apple pro 11 and I'm trying to restore my phone because its not working while I'm connecting to my computer and the pop up ope update or restore my phone. I don't know what to do.HELP

yesterday my phone drop and it didn't turn on instead the apple logo pop up and disappear than pop up again on repeat. I look online and I followed the instructions with the volume up and down and hold the side than I connect it to my laptop. as I connect it to my laptop it pop up on my laptop asking me to update or restore my iPhone. I clicked on update but nothing happen. can someone please help me. please. I don't know what else to do. nothing is happening on my laptop nor phone.
