what is preventing icloud for windows from completed sign in to the two-factor code entry screen?

In both Chrome and Edge browsers, after entering Apple ID & password, and after receiving my six-digit two-factor code and agreeing on my iPhone to allow sign in, the window for sign in is stuck cycling with the little rotating gear icon. HOW DO I FIX THIS?

I have a message that "iCloud Photos is incompatible with OneDrive Backup. Your iCloud Photos folder is now in your home directory."

Somewhat astonished to see that yes, my iCloud photos ARE in my Windows directory, even pleasantly surprised, but does this mean now that ALL iCloud services are NOT accessible through the non-Apple web browsers?

I still think I should be able to connect to iCloud through one browser on the other. Do I have to break down and buy an Apple desktop?

Windows, Windows 10

Hey andynamex,

You should not have an issue accessing iCloud.com via most browsers provided they're updated. We can recommend double checking if Edge or Chrome have updates, install them and check again. If it still stalls in the same manner, it could also be a "stuck" cookie. Clear your history and cookies for your preferred browser then try signing in after that.

If you still encounter issues, contact Apple Support to take a closer look.

Take care.

Thank you very much, Derek M, for making those suggestions. I cleared the browser history, cookies, etc. on both Chrome and Edge, and I also uninstalled my Norton 360 security suite (but I reinstalled it, and it may have been running before I had launched another attempt at logging in to iCloud; but I still doubt that was the problem). I have verified that both browsers are fully updated, and my version of Windows is fully up to date as well. I cleared the browser data to the "full" extent and continued to have this issue.

I used your "Get Support" link and had a 30-minute chat with Apple staff ("Andrea") that I am sorry to say led nowhere. She was certain the problem had to be with my PC or the browser. We spent too much time at cross-purposes, I think. The upshot, to my dismay, is that the only way to access the iCloud is through my Windows directory, where the iPhotos and other content is stored.

If you have other suggestions please let me know.

Kind regards

Andrew Y.

HI! I'm having the same issue of not being able to get into my iCloud account. I've cleaned out my Chrome cache and I also downloaded DuckDuckGo and get the same results. Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing on the newly installed DuckDuckGo - I only installed this to start fresh and tried to launch login to iCloud. My Lenvo laptop is about 10 months old.

Thanks in Advance!
