As described, you have conditionally turned-off WiFi from the Control Centre. You can either turn-on WiFi again from the same location, or you can do so from iPad settings:
Settings > WiFi > WiFi - set the switch to ON
The Control Centre is accessed with a downward-swipe from the top-right corner of the screen. Swipe from just above the visible screen, swiping downwards onto the screen.
As an evident newcomer to iPad, you are likely benefit from taking a look at the iPad User Guide - this being a rich source of frequently overlooked information about your iPad and iPadOS. The Guide is available both online using a web browser (such as Safari), or as an Apple Books download:

The Tips App, installed by default on all new models of iPad, provides a brief introduction - and leads you to the User Guide. In case you missed it, here is a link to the Tips App:

Hi Rev,
You may have accidentally turned off you wifi. All you have to do is go to settings, open wifi from there and You'll see a toggle for turning wifi on or off.
Just toggle it to the on position and it will start working again.
You can also do this from dragging your finger from the top right corner of the screen to display the control centre. There, there is a button to turn the wifi on or off you can just click it to turn on wifi again.
Cheers
