UPS with iMac 24 M1 battery always @ 0%

I have a 10 day old iMac 24 and a new "1000VA/600W Powercool Smart UPS 3x UK Plug Socket 3x IEC 2x RJ45 USB LED Display' macOS is ventura 13.4.1(c). the iMac recognises the UPS as it provides the "UPS Options" whom the UPS is connected. However, the battery displayed in the menu bar is always at 0% even though the UPS is fully charged. I tested and ran the iMac with mains turned off via the UPS for over an hour. Turned on the mains power again and it then shows that the batteries are charging (flashing front panel LED).

Cable connecting is a new USB-c to USB-B cable, was initially on USB-B to USB-A cable and an adapter to USB-C.

I have asked the seller about this and I also asked "AppleCare" too. AppleCare said, predictably that it must be something with the UPS !

So I thought I would ask here for any ideas, while I wait for the sellers response. I am in UK by the way.

I now have an update from BPC UK as follows:-

==============

Thank you for your earlier call, unfortunately this series in particular will not have the capacity to communicate with a third party application to share battery data on a component level, and as such without a revision of the hardware, this functionality cannot be added to the system.

This is a feature we will consider In future, but for now, there is no smart shutdown capacity with this system.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

===================

So looks like Tripp-Lite will be my last hope.
