Why has my account been cancelled the App Store?

I had bogus charges ,so I had the bank dispute them. I got a refund, now I can’t download anything on my iPad or telephone. This isn’t fair. My account was hacked, & now I’m paying for it. I need to buy more storage for my iPad, I can’t because you disabled my account in the App Store. I need to resolve this issue. Please help me!!

You will need to provide another payment method. If you reported fraud on a bank card, then the bank will issue you another card and cancel your old one, It would not make since for Apple to allow you to use the same payment method that you had claimed a fraudulent charge on.


To be able to reactivate your account now, try the link in this Support Article:

If you see a message that says "Your account has been disabled in the App Store and iTunes", there is a problem with your payment method on your account, to resolve the problem you need help from Apple support,  click -> contact Apple Support for help.

If your Apple ID is locked or disabled -> If your Apple ID is locked or disabled - Apple Support (CA)

-> Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication

  • If you want to change your card, you need to add first the new card, then remove the old card.
  • or if you use your Apple Account balance, you need to set your Apple Account balance as your default payment.

fyi: Not all credit & debit cards seem to work with App Store / iTunes Store, try a different one, or preferably a credit card. If your card is not accepted as a paymenf method, you need to contact your bank.

Contact Apple for support and service
