What is difference when a column says purchase or play

when I downloaded music from iTunes to my iPhone 13 Pro Max to purchase the column states purchase or play. Did I buy the music?

Sounds like you bought some of the songs on an album, but not others.


The iTunes Store will show you the prices of the songs that you haven't purchased, and "Play" (where a price would be) for the songs that you already own. If you tap the "Play" button, it's a shortcut for playing the song. You will not get charged again.


Caveat: I don't know if things get more complicated if you have offline listening copies of Apple Music songs.
