iPhone 13 issue with Viasat

I also live in a rural setting but a DSL connection and recently subscribed to Viasat for hopefully higher connection speeds which is a “sometimes” thing with Viasat. I have seen speeds as low as .25 Mbps when high speed data allowance has expired but Viasat would gladly sell me more. We have no land line so our iPhone 13’s are set to allow internet connections. The phones complain of security issues when connecting to Viasat and request WPA2/WPA3 security. Viasat is set to WPA2, I learned from Viasat support. Satellite latency and weather conditions can also make the iPhone intermittent. Our phones voice reception can be horrible with Viasat but quite acceptable with DSL. I don’t know if this helps at all but just my experience with Viasat.

Check your WiFi Router / Modem for --> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points ...

Consider more secure wifi configuration.

Change your router’s WiFi to use WPA2-AES (CCMP) with no WPA or TKIP. Updating this setting ensures that your devices always connect in one encryption mode

  1. TKIP is obsolete and not considered secure. Choose WPA2, the latest encryption standard, with AES encryption for optimal security
  2. If your router doesn’t specify TKIP or AES, the WPA2 option probably uses AES
