2015 Macbook pro 13" SSD not recognized
I have a 2015 MBP 13", non touch bar. It has a 1 TB SSD in it. Was working normally, then suddenly i "woke" it and had the flashing ?. I restarted and the ? remained.
Diagnosis:
- I reset the NVRAM/PRAM
- If i boot to internet recovery and attempt to reinstall Mac OS, at authorization i get the error "no bag found"
- If i then select disk utility I see the internet recovery boot image, but no SSD
- I booted to internet recovery and disk utility with an external SSD and the volume was seen
- I replaced the SSD and still not recognized, suggesting the problem is not the media
- I did speak to a "genius" at the store who also felt it was the media...apparently not
- Hardware profiler is not available in the internet recovery boot image so i cannto check status of SATA busses. Is there more than one?
Does anyone have a clue what is going on? This was never a particularly good machine so i wish to limit any investment in restoration.
TIA
