Early 2015 MacBook Pro freezing consistently

For the last eight months or so, I have struggled with my early 2015 MacBook Pro (full specs below) freezing regularly. It's a refurbished model, but I have used it for the past two-and-a-half years with no problems before this began happening.

The freezing happens with and without power and peripherals connected. I have to do a hard restart in order to get the computer working again, after which it boots up normally but then freezes again sometimes within a minute or two of launching. A solution I found to this problem is to reinstall the operating system, but it often takes several attempts via internet recovery before the reinstall is successful, and then only works for a few weeks before the same problem returns.

A few weeks ago, I had the Apple store erase the drive and reinstall the OS, but the same problem just re-emerged. I was able to reinstall the OS from internet recovery again and it seems to be working now, but I doubt this is a permanent fix.

The Apple store said that if the problem continues, the next option is a new logic board. I'd like to avoid doing this, and I wonder if there is another piece of hardware, or perhaps software that could be causing the problem? Thanks.

Specs:

MacBook Pro, Retina, 13", Early 2015, 3.1ghz processor

MacOS 12.6.7

16 GB ram

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

The Apple Store did run diagnostics, and they turned up no problems or failures.

To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled.

Login and test. Reboot  as normal and test.  Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most* extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

unplug all third party peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

no insight or resolve—

you can get a good look at your User/System config. and reveal conflicts or issues, you can download/run this trusted utility https://etrecheck.com

What did Apple Store have to say about the issue— it seems this is you best chance at a resolve(?)

if your hardware is working in a state of failure, no amount of software fixes will have the desired effect.
