How do I switch between workbooks in Excel for Mac

In prior versions of Excel for Mac, control-tab switched between open Excel workbooks.

It no longer works in "new" Excel 16.17 (aka 2019).

I don't like 2019, and I hate all the Excel 365 versions I've had to use (really bad layout and keyboard control, and next to no customization). So, I'm NOT updating. In fact, if I could get Excel 2008 to work on this iMac, I would prefer the older, fully functional version of Excel

I'm using Excel 16.75.2. In this version, using command + ` (the "slanted" apostrophe to the left of the "1" key, not the ' apostrophe next to the the return key) switches between opened non-maximized workbooks. This command may work in your version.

You are absolutely my hero. Thank you sooooo much!!!

I knew that control` gives you the formulas. I didn't try the command`. But it works!

Now, can you tell me why the column widths and heights that worked in the prior version are no longer valid? Did microsoft change the length of an inch? You can't have 8 x 1 inch columns on a letter size piece of paper with 0.25" margins? Been doing it for decades in older versions of Excel. No longer works.

Sorry, I won't be able to help there. I never intend my worksheets to be printed and I don't use the Page Layout. Yet, I did some testing and I'm seeing also that 8 columns of 1" do not fit on a standard 8.5" page with 0.25" margins.

I would suggest that you post a new question on the forum of the Community or that you use Microsoft's forum: https://answers.microsoft.com/. The latter will connect you with Excel aficionados.
