i just backed up my old phone through my mac. How can I access my photos to transfer them to my new phone without using my old phone

I had an accident with my old phone, now the phone still works but the screen does not. I bought a new phone and realized i had not backed up the old one, so I am missing a year of photos. I was able to back up my old phone through my macbook, but now I don't know how to get my photos to my new phone without being able to see my old phone because the screen is broken.

iPhone 14, iOS 16

You would need to plug your iPhone into the computer and then pull up finder (if running newer software) or iTunes on an older version of software and restore from backup.
