Here's how you change the email address (Apple ID) you use for your Apple Account while retaining everything in your account:

2. In the Sign-In and Security section, choose Apple ID.

3. Enter the email address that you want to use as your Apple ID.

4. Choose Change Apple ID.

5. If you changed your Apple ID to a third-party email address, check your email for a verification code, then enter the code. Learn what to do if you didn't get the email. --> If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support

6. If you use services like iCloud or Messages to share with friends and colleagues, sign in to those services with your updated Apple ID. --> What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support

If Apple tries sending you a verification email and you do not receive it, read this support article --> If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support

"When you make certain updates to your Apple ID, we’ll send you an email to help you complete the update. For example, you might have reset your password, reset your security questions, or added a new email address to your account."

If you find you can’t sign in, reset your password, or receive verification codes, you can request account recovery (go to this document: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support ) to regain access to your account. Account recovery might take a few days or longer, depending on the specific account information you can provide to verify your identity.

Hello Leianeisanarnp,

Losing access to an old email address associated with important accounts like iCloud can be challenging. Here are some steps you can try to regain access to your iCloud account:

  1. Account Recovery Options: Visit the iCloud account recovery page and see if there are any alternative account recovery options available. Typically, iCloud offers various methods to recover your account, such as answering security questions, using a phone number, or an alternate email address. You can try these options if you have set them up before.
  2. Contact iCloud Support: If you are unable to use the standard account recovery options, you should contact Apple iCloud Support directly. Explain the situation to them and provide any relevant information about your account. They may ask for verification details to confirm your identity. You can reach iCloud Support through Apple's official website.
  3. Proof of Ownership: If you can provide proof of ownership for your iCloud account, such as original purchase receipts for Apple products linked to the account, it may help in the account recovery process.
  4. Update Contact Email: If you regain access to your old email address in the future, make sure to update your iCloud account with a more current and accessible email address. This will prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
  5. Check for Data Backup: If you have important data on your iCloud account, make sure you have a backup on your devices or another secure location.
  6. Try Another Device or Browser: Sometimes, issues with account access can be browser or device-specific. Try accessing your iCloud account from a different device or using a different web browser to see if the problem persists.

Remember to stay patient throughout the process. Account recovery procedures are put in place to protect your account's security, so it may take some time to verify your identity. Stay in touch with Apple Support and follow their instructions closely to resolve the issue.

As an additional precaution, it's essential to keep your contact information updated and have multiple recovery options set up for all your important online accounts to prevent similar situations in the future
