Enter Verification Code pop-up window disappears on Win 11 Chrome

The Enter Verification Code window disappears quickly.

When attempting to sign-in to the iCloud app from my Windows 10 pc with Chrome browser, two-factor authentication

1. Sends a pop-up to my iPhone requesting that I allow Apple ID Sign In.
2. When I click "Allow," a new window pops-up on iPhone with the Apple ID Verification Code. However,
3. the "Enter the Verification Code Sent to you" pop-up window on the pc disappears within 2 seconds. The code entry window is not hidden behind another window, it is simply gone so that there is no place to enter the verification code.

All of the responses I've read to this question are not responsive to this issue. The responses simply refer the OP to an article on how to sign in to iCloud.
