There appear to be photos in my Photostream album on my old MacBook which are nowhere else (iCloud or in Photos App on old computer). I am terrified they will just disappear tonight - can anyone help? Happy to pay for expert advice. I am in the UK.

My Photo Stream is shutting down today. It automatically deletes everything after 30 days, and Apple halted new uploads a month ago. So there's little or nothing left in the Photo Stream to save.
If you've been treating My Photo Stream as a backup or archive, instead of as the temporary holding place that it is, you've been steadily throwing away pictures all along.
I don't use My Photo Stream, but I would suggest selecting all of the photos that you see in the stream, and then selecting one of the File / Export menu items to export copies out to a desktop or a folder in the Finder.
Hi thanks, clearly there was something wrong with my photo stream as it had about 1000 photos in it from 2016 on an old computer! With the help of a brilliant Apple technician I finally managed to export them to a flash drive. Result. Thanks!
