Turn off all focus (DND, Driving, Work, Sleep, Personal, Any other). Open the Control center and see if this helps.
And then turn back the only Focus that you need.
If your family is still receiving texts with the message "notification silenced" when messaging you, it could be due to a few different settings or configurations on your iPhone or iPad. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
Check Individual Contact Settings:
Check Mute Conversation:

SMS and iMessage notifications settings are not different. However, if the recipient has enabled Hide Alerts for a specific message thread then there won't be any sound irrespective of DND
For Hide Alerts please see the pic 1 below. Follow Pic 2 for two scenarios; DND+Hide Alert and Only DND

Check your other Apple devices that shares the same account. I found that my young son had turned focus on the iPad!!
It took me some time to figure out, but here's how you stop messages from broadcasting to everyone that you're silencing notifications:
Go to Privacy & Security -> Focus -> Toggle the option that says, "Allow the applications below to see and share your Focus status" -> "Messages"
See the image here
This recently happened to me. I had accidentally turned on do not disturb on my laptop and it carried over to all other devices as well. Once I turn do not disturb off laptop and not to share do not disturb all devices. The problem was fixed.
I had this happen out of nowhere. I went on my MacAir and saw Focus was turned on and said it will be on for all my devices. I turned it off and it stopped saying notifications silenced.
I had the same problem. I went to Settings>Focus>Do Not Disturb>People>Switch Silence Notifications From to Allow Notifications From>Edit your list of people.
Repeat for all the remaining Focus categories.
Hopefully this helps.
In every instance where this happened to me or my kids, it was after using a MacBook. Even though we had turned off any Focus mode or Do Not Disturb settings on our phones, iPads, and Apple Watches, the issue persisted. It wasn’t until we noticed and disabled it on the MacBook that the problem was resolved. I hope this helps you!
I know this is a year later but wanted to share what fixed it for me. Settings->Focus->make sure share across devices is not on.
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Focus > Toggle Messages Off
This is the only thing I found to work. I can't think of any other reason for Messages to see and share my Focus status.
I had to go to settings and and click allow notifications hope that helps.
I notice everyone keeps talking about focus modes, but based on what most people are describing you have the “silence notifications” toggle on under the sound and haptics setting.
I have this issue as well. Was happening about a month ago and was able to get rid of the silence notification by shutting off all the settings as suggested. Now it randomly came back and will not go away. I don’t have any focus settings or do not disturb activated on any device. And in fact, it’s working backwards rather than notifying people that I have notifications silenced when they text me, it shows it when I text them that I am silenced. This makes no sense and is utterly useless. Very annoying. I wish Apple would learn the philosophy regarding if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Is there a way to delete the focus option? This has caused me so many issues. It is now on my laptop and sending emails out is spotty. People say they didnt receive my email. Text messages say notifications silent. What the heck is going on?? Help
How can I turn someone’s notifications off? When someone’s when someone Gmail says, notifications turned off
Having to do this over and over is annoying. Apple needs to fix it.
