Why i am always seing recovery software canot be contacted when i am going to install through internect recovery, i tried to set the date in terminal but the problem did not solve ,also cheking my internet connection it' s okay also. anybody can help me pls, am using macbook pro late 2011

Internet recovery error for Macbook Pro late 2013 Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a Macbook Pro 2013, running High Sierra OS. I haven't used it in a few years and am now trying to return it to factory settings before selling it to someone else. I have been following the instructions in this article: What to do before you sell, give away, trade in or recycle your Mac – Apple Support (AU) for "If your Mac doesn't have Erase All Content and Settings" Everything was working fine until I got to "Reinstall Mac OS" in Recovery mode, which didn't work. I kept getting the "Recovery server could not be contacted" Error Message. I searched this community and found this thread to try to troubleshoot: "Recovery server could not be contacted" … - Apple Community and following one user's advice to use the terminal to reset the date and time, I entered the terminal command from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy3SLxT4uH4 "-u time.apple.com" then Enter. Now, when I restart in recovery mode is goes straight into Internet Recovery mode. After the globe spins for a long time, I get the error message "apple.com/support -2002F". I found this thread from someone with a similar issue: internet recovery for mac not working - Apple Community, but I confess I don't really understand it and I think I made a big mistake entering that command in the terminal. Please help!

Internet Recovery will not install High Sierra unless you are using a Mac that shipped with it.

command-R works to install High Sierra if the Mac is running HIgh Sierra.

command-option-shift-R works to install HIgh Sierra on Macs released between September 25, 2017 and September 24, 2018.

Late 2011 Macs shipped with Lion, but can run HIgh Sierra if already installed, or able to reached on the App Store using the following directions.
