What am doing wrong- when my Iphone 11 will only take a a photo of my homescreen, not what I am aiming at?

I have describe it as best I can

iPhone 11, iOS 16

You are taking screenshots. You are pressing two buttons at the same time. That’s not how to take a photo.

Take a photo

Open Camera, then tap the Shutter button or press either volume button to take the shot.
