What Mac model and year do you have?
Do you have a CD/DVD optical drive in your Mac or an external optical drive?
What kind of CD is it?
Is the CD a data CD that you made yourself or is it from a photo processing store, like a Kodak CD of photos?
Have you tried opening the CD and see if you can find the jpeg image file on it? If you can just drag them into your open Photos library window to import them. Then you can view them.
I bought a CD Rom Drive from Amazon. They're like $20, more or less. They just plug in to the Mac and work.
I did find that the CDs that I have from 20 and 30 years ago, you know, the ones that were supposed to have a lifetime of 500 years, or something like that, were often corrupted, with some or all tracks unreadable. Luckily I had backups of backups, but there are still some pictures I never recovered.
And sometimes I used and old Mac PowerBook that had a built-in optical drive, and it worked better than the ones I had bought (though it often took longer to load.) I tried spending more money for a better drive, but that didn't work any better.
