I cancelled my free trial Apple TV on 7/25/23 and still I received a reminder email on 7/28/23 for renewal on Aug 2nd. Please check my cancellation and confirm. I DO NOT want to sign up for membership after August 2nd.

This is a user-to-user forum. We can’t confirm anything on your account. You are not addressing Apple here.
If you canceled your subscription for Apple TV+ during the free trial, then it would expire immediately, and you wouldn’t have access to the subscription content anymore.
If you canceled your subscription for Apple TV+ after the trial, then it would expire at the end of the current billing cycle.
You can see the current status in your subscriptions overview. A canceled subscription would have an expire date, an ongoing subscription would have a next billing date. An expired subscription would be listed for a while as expired (separate from active).
