Apple TV & HomePod Mini volume issues

I have an Apple TV with two HomePod minis set up as a stereo pair to my TV in the living room. Periodically one of the HomePods will stop changing volume or muting. So if I try to mute the adverts, only one will mute, which is really annoying.

Usually, I just turn the HomePod off for about 10 seconds and wait for it to restart and then swap the Apple TV output to TV and back to HomePods.

But now it won’t work properly anymore.

I have tried everything and it is doing my nut in. I ungrouped them, and then created a stereo pair again. No luck. I factory reset them both and set them up with the Apple TV but still the same.

Does anyone have any ideas?

It’s getting really annoying, seriously thinking of going with a different home eco system. Nothing seems to work with apple HomeKit anymore and they don’t seem to be concerned about it. I’ve had these HomePod minis for about 3 years and I started having this issue about 5 months ago and it’s really irritating. The volume won’t sync and there seems to be no resolve.
