Watch rings, phone doesn’t

My iPhone was unlocked and in use, and I got a call. The watch notified me, but the phone didn’t show any phone call at all. Why, and how do I fix that?

Hello jjgg,

When something like this happens, we suggest power cycling the iPhone by following these steps found at Restart your iPhone - Apple Support:

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

While simple, this can refresh the iOS, apps and connections while resolving some issues.

The restart the Apple Watch, follow these steps: Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Have a good day.

Hi jjgg,

If restarting doesn't help, the next element to check will be to see if you have a Focus enabled on the iPhone that would prevent call notifications. The support article Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad outlines how that feature works, and generally you will have an icon at the top of your screen as an indicator. A Focus can be associated with a Lock Screen as well and enabled with a Lock Screen change.

Regards.
