Spectrum Repeated Signin

My Spectrum App on Apple TV will often ask for a logon, even when we just turned it on. It doesn’t recognize my previous password and I can’t sign in automatically. Quite the pain.

  1. Verify that you connect through Spectrum Internet. Their app on TV/streaming devices may not authenticate through other internet providers.
  2. Update your Apple TV system software to the current version, if not done already. How to update your Apple TV - Apple Support
  3. Try this for any misbehaving app:
    1. Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.
    2. If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
    3. If the issue still persists, delete the app, re-download and try again.
    4. If the issue still persists after that, then the app developer/publisher should be contacted (again) for further assistance.

Got a competent person from Spectrum to listen to my problem. He understood my problem and saw quickly that their Security had flagged my account for ‘suspicious’ activity. They were requiring I change my password, so I was getting these interruptions to get me to change the password.

if I hadn’t got the tech help, I would never have known there was a need to change my password.

we changed the password, then problem gone.

Tech was savvy enough to create an alert for their customer service team to figure out how to inform subscribers they need to do this.


thanks for your help. not clear to me how Spectrum-Apple will get this fix done.
