screen mirroring problems

when screen sharing from my MacBook onto my tv the video and audio is spotty. I'm not sure how else to describe it. it sort of pauses and then replays really fast and this goes on for the whole movie. is there any way to fix this?

When mirroring Macbook to AppleTV I get sound, but no picture. For instance, when I play Netflix or Amazon Prime content, all controls and even subtitles remain visible on both displays (Macbook and TV), but the actual content - the film or series - doesn't show, but the audio goes to the TV. A black screen is all I get, whether I mirror the built-in display or use the TV as a Seperate Display. I use a MacBook Air - early 2015 running MacOS 12.7.2 and an Apple TV model A1427 running 7.9(8163) and 2 random TVs that both just act as a screen.

How do I stop screen mirroring from MacBook Air to Apple TV? I often use mirror screening from my MacBook Air to my Apple TV to watch live various stream shows. I know how to turn it on, but when I am done mirroring, there used to be a way to turn it off by using Command-F1 (I Think) but that doesn't seem to work anymore for some reason. It doesn't take my laptop back to completely disconnected nor does it disconnect completely from the Apple TV. There may have been a change to this procedure since an update maybe? if it's high res video and your LAN network is not very fast or experience interference because many other wifis nearby use the same channel it could be the explanation, changing wifi channel would be a cure.
