Safari JavaScript inspector pops up all the time

hi,

I own a mbp running Monterey and Safari 16.5. since the last update, I have these js inspector pop up’s that appear all the time, even if Safari is not turning .

This is really problematic. I assume there has to be an option to prevent it, but I have not found it yet .

to avoid this I use Chrome , but I’d like to find a true solution to fix this issue.

can any one help me please?

thanks

Hello Andie77,

It sounds like this may be related to enabling the web inspector within the Safari app. If so, you can use this page to disable it: Enabling Web Inspector

If that isn't relevant, then we'd ensure you're running the latest Safari version and macOS: Update to the latest version of Safari

Also, worth mentioning that these could be pop-up ads. If that's the case, use these steps to troubleshoot the issue: Block pop-up ads and windows in Safari

In case the issue persists, what error does this pop-up mention exactly? The more we can understand about this issue, the better we can assist.

Take care.

Hey there Andie77,

Thanks for trying those steps and letting us know the results. From here, the next step you can take is to start in safe mode. Safe mode will prevent certain software from starting up on your MacBook Pro, which can help isolate what might be going on. If needed, this article shows how: Use safe mode on your Mac

Another step you can also try is to try this in a new temporary user. This step can show if the issue is happening specifically to your user on the MacBook Pro or all users on the MacBook Pro. This article shows how to add a new user: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

We look forward to your reply.

Best wishes.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.

I updated my Safari version yesterday and now run 16.6.

I still have the same issue:

So I give you the steps I made to reproduce the use case:

  • safari in sot running
  • I open a tierce app, in this case I opened apple TV
  • I have this js Inspector showing up
  • as you can see on the screen shot, the previous action opened safari instantly .

This behavior is not normal. I noticed as well that it happens on some apps but not all of them.

I have tried disabling the development option, but it does not change anything...

I use my mbp for working purpose and this is a really annoying situation...
