i want to change the Lock Screen passcode and add Face ID on my child’s iPhone as too many people know his current passcode however, I can’t see how to do it from my phone, and his phone doesn’t seem to have a Face ID/passcode option. I must be missing something - can anyone help please?

Thanks for replying, he’s got an iPhone XR. I’ve been through his phone with him, and the passcode option in his settings just doesn’t seem to be there. I imagine I must have done something to his settings to stop him being able to change it himself, but can’t remember what, or how!
What is his phone type? You cannot set a Lock Screen passcode and face/Touch ID from your phone, you can only control the screen time passcode from your phone.
See in the settings of his phone if you can find something about passcode
