"Refunded or purchased with a different apple ID" with pro apps bundle?

To clarify, I tried to update my application "Logic pro X" but it gives an error message:

"Logic Pro cannot be updated because it was refunded or purchased with a different Apple ID."

None of this is true, to my knowledge. So obviously I have a problem with this.

*********************************************************************************************************

First, let me tell you the basic steps I did/used, and then we can get into my issue.

*I will be using logic pro as the example application...just so there are no questions*

1) You have to make sure you are logging in with the same user ID.

-That's great because Ive never changed my apple ID

2) Make sure you actually purchased the application in question.

-Yes I went to apple and had them send me a copy of my invoice...so we both know I purachsed it.

3) After that...there is a basic apple support page:

If Logic Pro for Mac isn't working - Apple Support

This goes through a list of things you can do, including a cache clearing. I did most of this list before calling the tech support, and they helped me with the cache clearing process, however nothing on this list resolved my particular issue.

***This is the point where I am stuck waiting for apple engineers to allow the applications to link with my apple id.**.

Clarity:

After doing some of my own research, and talking with a second Tech support person, I have found this issue is specifically about people who purchase the Pro apps bundle for education. Buy Pro Apps Bundle for Education - Education - Apple

All I know is that I paid for 4 programs, and now (for some reason) they do not show up as purchased, cannot be updated, and further ranting...I cannot download the basic logic pro library to completion.

I still don't really know what happened, and this is the start of week 2...the "Engineers" are apparently working on it.

So in summation, if you have this issue where you are:

1) using the same ID as before

2) you actually purchased the applications in question using the pro apps bundle

3) you cannot update your app giving the error message (refunded or purchased with a different apple ID)

4) you've tried that list of basic apple support stuff. (as mentioned above)

If none of that works then....welcome to the wonderful world of apple support.

Be prepared for a lengthy conversation that will end in a "Ticket"being put in, and....the "Engineers" are "Working on it." You will probably have about 3-5 days before they call you back to tell you a "Ticket" has been put in, and the "Engineers" are "Working on it." You will have another 5-7 days to wait before they can confirm anything...that is where we are folks.

It's a waiting game. There are probably a thousand of these cases, and someone is working on them all day trying to resolve them.
