Apple Pencil 2 is still draining my iPad

I'm still seeing LOTS of comments, and NO solutions from Apple on this.

I thought I had an iPad battery issue. I even went to the Genius Bar and they said there was no issue with the battery health. So then it occurred to me: I leave the pencil connected all the time. I removed it, and the battery is holding very well.

So Apple.... again.................... is this just the reality, or is there a solution you can provide to the Apple Pencil 2 draining iPad batteries? I'm totally up to date with iOS, I've had an Apple Store confirm the full health of my iPad. The pencil battery drain persists...
