If texting is consuming a significant portion of your battery, there are several steps you can take to address this issue and improve your battery life:

  1. Disable Location Services: Some messaging apps use location services to share your location with others. Disabling location services for your messaging app can help conserve battery power.
  2. Restrict Background App Refresh: You can disable the background app refresh for specific apps. See the pic below to know how battery is consumed in the background
    1. With Background App Refresh, suspended apps can check for updates and new content. If you want suspended apps to check for new content, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and turn on Background App Refresh. Switch apps on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support
  3. Use Wi-Fi Instead of Mobile Data: When possible, use Wi-Fi for texting instead of mobile data. Wi-Fi typically consumes less power than cellular data.

Remember that battery life can vary based on your device model, operating system version, and usage patterns. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to your device manufacturer's support or forums for specific troubleshooting assistance.
