iMessages on MacBook pro

I can only send messages to certain people on my MacBook. I also am not able to click on “start new conversation from:” tab. I’d like to be able to message all of my contacts on my MacBook. How do I do that

Hello saelym,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

Have you confirmed you have Messages set up correctly on your Mac? If not, please review the details in artilce, Set up Messages on Mac - Apple Support and double check your settings.

Also, have you enabled Message forwarding on your iPhone? If not, this can prevent you from having the ability to send SMS messages. The steps below will assist with making sure this setting is enabled.

  1. "On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages.
  2. Tap Text Message Forwarding.
  3. Note: If you don’t see Text Message Forwarding, make sure you’re signed in to iMessage using the same Apple ID on both your iPhone and your Mac.
  4. Turn on your Mac in the list of devices.
  5. If you’re not using two-factor authentication, a six-digit activation code appears on your Mac; enter this code on your iPhone, then tap Allow."

Best regards.
