What if I want to remove a song (or artists, or albums, etc) from my library but still want to keep them in a playlist?

Songs in your playlist points back to the music library, it doesn't move it to the playlist.

The songs in playlist are simply pointers to the songs in your library (not the actual songs). Removing a song from your library (as you want to do) would simple make the pointer invalid. The pointers in a playlist costume very little additional memory.

I guess there’s no benefit in adding an album to my library if it’s going to do this to my playlists. A useless tool. Just search for albums and add songs to playlists through Apple Music. I think the only reason they have Apple Music | Library searches is because they still sell music on iTunes.

This upsets me because I love listening to music and it’s over 3,000 songs in my playlist. Deleting them from my library and having to re add them is irritating…all the songs are in an order to me that I remember and want them to be in😭.
